Rick Leder is a professional trumpeter and trumpet teacher, based in Palo Alto, having studied most recently with Lou Ranger, Ray Mase, Laurie McGaw, Rob Roy McGregor, Jim Wilt and Kevin Cobb. Recent engagements have included regular series concerts with the Stockton Symphony, the San Francisco Lyric Opera, the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra (under James Conlon, Hans Graf and David Zinman), the Aspen Opera Theater (under Julius Rudel) and Gabriel’s Trumpets, a local fanfare group. Rick has also performed with the Napa Valley Symphony, the Modesto Symphony, the Merced Symphony, the Peninsula Ballet Theater, the Monterey Symphonic Winds and the Minnesota Orchestra. Rick’s trumpet studio currently includes students from grade 3 to grade 12, mostly enrolled in schools from Palo Alto to Saratoga.
