Steve Anderson grew up in Los Alto, CA and received his BA and MA degrees from San Jose State University. Steve's principal trumpet teachers include Charles Bubb, former Principal trumpet San Francisco Symphony; Howard Snell, Principal trumpet London Symphony and Phillip Jones-Phillip Jones Brass Ensemble; and Vincent Cichowicz, former member Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Steve has been a tenured member of San Jose Symphony, American Musical Theater Orchestra, West Bay Opera, Chicago Chamber Consortium, Chicago Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble, London Repertoire Orchestra, England Pezell Brass of London, England.

Steve has free-lances with San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Oakland Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony, Hinsdale Opera Orchestra, Chicago Nashville Recording Studios.

 Steve's teaching experience includes Trumpet instructor, Belmont College, Nashville TN; Instructor of Brass Instruments and Brass Pedagogy, Tennessee State University; Interim Band Director, Stanford University; Band and String Director, Santa Cruz City Schools.
